1. Keeping God’s Truth in context.
   

1. Overall Context: Theme “By the grace of God and for His glory walk in a manner worthy of your calling in Christ.”
   

2. The Immediate Context: Becoming people of grace in everything we do.
   

1. Two commands to live by to become encouragers.
   

1. The negative – what you don’t say.

1. Keeping silent. Proverbs 10:19; Proverbs 6:12-19.
   

2. Worthless and rotten words.
   

1. The positive – building others up with your words. John 14:16-17; Ephesians 2:10
   

Application questions and evaluation.

1. Are you in the habit of saying negative things? 1 John 1:8-9
   

1. Is it your goal to use your words for God’s glory? Proverbs 12:25; Proverbs 10:20-21
   

1. Are you speaking words of kindness and forgiveness to others? Romans 2:4
