Each story featured here highlights how individuals are using their unique gifts to love others and share the hope of Christ, all while demonstrating the core values of compassion, generosity, and faith in action.

oPERATION chRISTMAS CHILD (SAMARITANS pURSE)

Operation Christmas Child is one of Samaritans Purse’s many initiatives where they send gift-filled shoeboxes to children in need around the world together with the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.You can either pick up one or more empty shoeboxes to fill with gifts or volunteer at the Samaritan's Purse warehouse to help assemble the boxes for shipment. The national collection week for completed shoeboxes is November 18-25. If you're interested, please contact Barbara Baun.

BELL RINGING WITH sALVATION ARMY

The Salvation Army is an international ministry dedicated to preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ and meeting human needs in His name, without discrimination. They are seeking volunteers for their bell ringing. These volunteers help encourage others to donate and fill their red kettles. Every contribution helps families stay in their homes and can assist families in need. If you’re interested, contact Jennifer Wilson.

nEIGHBORHOOD REHAB PROJECT

The Neighborhood Rehab Project, or “Be A Tool,” promotes collaboration for sustainable community change. NRP partners with governments, churches, service clubs, businesses, and residents to empower volunteers and homeowners to work together for the betterment of our community. Neighborhood Rehab Project’s mission focuses on service, skill development, and building relationships. Throughout the year, they organize various projects, culminating in a multi-city Day of Service. If interested contact Jesse Armstrong.

Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS)

MomCo, formerly known as MOPS, is a non-profit organization that empowers and supports mothers of young children, helping them realize their potential as mothers, women, and leaders, all while fostering their relationship with Jesus and partnering with the local church. Join us for free coffee, engaging conversations, and the chance to build lasting friendships with fellow moms! Childcare is available at meetings through the MomCo Kids’ ministry. FELLOWSHIP OF CHRISTIAN ATHLETES (FCA)

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes has been challenging coaches and athletes on the professional, college, high school, junior high and youth levels to use the powerful platform of sport to reach every coach and every athlete with the transforming power of Jesus Christ. FCA focuses on serving local communities around the globe by engaging, equipping and empowering coaches and athletes to unite, inspire and change the world through the gospel. Their mission is to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church. KIDS CLOTHING SWAP

Kids' clothes come and go—let’s swap them! Join us for our annual Kids Clothing Swap this summer, where you can exchange gently used clothing with other families. It’s a fun and sustainable way to refresh your child's wardrobe while saving money and connecting with the community. Bring your outgrown items and discover new treasures for your little ones! Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to give and receive!

Kids camp

Hillside collaborates with local churches to offer a week-long event filled with Bible lessons, games, crafts, music, and other engaging activities. Kids Camp, formerly known as VBS, helps children learn about God’s love, strengthen their faith, and build friendships in a supportive environment, while also serving as an outreach to non-believers. It’s a wonderful opportunity for children to participate and for others to volunteer. Kids Camp normally takes place mid July and is offered to children ages 4 years old to 6th graders. cHRISTMAS for Missionaries care packages

This holiday season, let’s come together as a church family to support our dedicated missionaries! Serving in various countries around the globe, they serve the Kingdom in their unique contexts. This Christmas, we want to shower them with our gratitude through meaningful financial gifts. We want to remind them that they are cherished and supported from their Hillside family. HILLSIDE CAFE

Hillside Cafe is open every Sunday morning to provide the community with delicious coffee and drinks before Sunday service. The cafe is run by Michelle Gill and filled with baristas and workers all from the church congregation. Hillside Cafe opens occasionally for other events and seeks to serve the church community. rocky mountain police & fire chaplainS

RMPFC is an organization founded by our Senior Pastor, Kevin Shive, dedicated to serving those who serve us. It provides essential support to police and fire chaplains by equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and training needed to serve their stations with confidence and excellence. Through these programs, RMPFC aims to empower and support these vital community members in their important work. If interested, contact Kevin Shive or Beth Loewen.

lAUNCHPAD STUDIOS

LaunchPad Studios, located in the basement of Hillside, is run by Worship Pastor, Mike Flack. He offers many services including music production, film projects and music lessons. Launchpad Studios engages with the community by “launching” musical dreams and providing quality one on one music lessons to learn a variety of instruments (piano, guitar, drums, vocal, electric guitar, etc.) For more info, contact Mike Flack.

wOMEN’S CLOTHING SWAP

Revamp your wardrobe at our Annual Women’s Clothing Swap! Join us for a fun and sustainable event where you can exchange gently used clothing and accessories with fellow women in our community. Bring your pre-loved items and discover fabulous new pieces to refresh your style—all while saving money and making connections. It’s a perfect opportunity to declutter, give back, and find something special!

paralyzed veterans of america (pva)

Paralyzed Veterans of America is the only nonprofit Veteran Service Organization dedicated solely to helping Veterans with spinal cord injuries and disorders (SCI/D), and diseases, like MS and ALS. PVA’s mission is to ensure that every Veteran of every age, every branch, and every conflict regains what they fought for: their freedom and independence. Meal TRAIN

Meal Train is an initiative designed to provide meals for individuals and families in need during difficult times, such as illness, the arrival of a new baby, or loss. Volunteers prepare and deliver meals, offering both nourishment and support to those facing challenges. If you’re looking to lend a helping hand or know someone who could benefit from this service, contact Jenny Ward to be a part of the meal train.

FAMILY PROMISE

Family Promise’s mission is to form relationships with families at risk of or experiencing homelessness by providing shelter, meals, and a spectrum of supportive services as they obtain permanent stability. There are many different ways to volunteer with Family Promise like providing meals or helping at a local shelter. Hillside provides a quarterly meal to families sheltering in the program. Christ care medical Center (Uganda)

Christ Care Medical Center in Lira, Uganda, has a remarkable story rooted in its mission to serve those impacted by the atrocities committed by the LRA in recent history. We are inspired by the incredible work being done there and are grateful for the opportunity to be involved through the relationships and callings of individuals who think creatively within our community. Through a partnership with Project Cure we have been able to send 3 containers of medical equipment to the medical center.  There are many ways to help grow and help the medical center thrive.  If interested, contact Tom Gould.

MISSION ARVADA

Mission Arvada is a ministry that seeks to minister to the poor, hurting, addicted, marginalized, and homeless of our community. Through a variety of services and programs, Mission Arvada aims to meet essential needs such as food security, health and wellness, and personal development. This ministry focuses mostly on the homeless in the Arvada area, offering shelter, food, healthcare, and more. If interested contact Kevin Hodson.

Awanas

Awana is a worldwide nonprofit ministry focused on providing Bible-based evangelism and discipleship solutions for ages 2 to 18. As the global leader in child and youth discipleship, Awana gives children the opportunity to know, love and serve Jesus, no matter their background. Hillside partners with First Baptist Church where they host Awana club once a week on Wednesdays from September to May. If interested contact Jennifer Coors.

Back to school shopping with salvation army

The Salvation Army coordinates back-to-school events and distributions for families in need of a helping hand. From collecting supplies from local donors and partnering businesses, to stuffing backpacks and coordinating events, The Salvation Army relies on the hearts and hands of supporters and volunteers to make these events possible. Hillside participates in the annual shopping spree program where you are paired with a child and help them pick out all their needed school supplies. If interested, contact Jennifer Wilson.

hUNGER FREE GOLDEN

Hunger Free Golden is a community collaboration in Golden, CO, dedicated to identifying and addressing the food security challenges faced by many residents. This initiative involves numerous organizations working together to ensure that everyone in our community has access to nutritious food. Thrive Ministry

The mission of Thrive is to journey with women ministering overseas by providing spiritual resources, transformative experiences, and authentic one-on-one relationships to replenish them as they invest in Kingdom work. Thrive was founded to help women flourish in their new contexts, to lower attrition rates among global workers, and to expand God’s Kingdom by spurring on the women called to the field. Because women ministering overseas desire spiritual mentorship, long to be known and understood, and value community, we journey with them by providing spiritual resources (Connection), transformative experiences (Retreats), and authentic one-on-one relationships (Alongside) to replenish them as they invest in Kingdom work.
